Fun in the Sun

This is for :iconbleachedkitten:

This shows Aqua, the vaporeon and Dorian, the dragonite at the beach, having fun.

Did I mention Aqua has a dragon fancy? He does... :iconimsrspervplz:

But upon protecting Dorian from two assassination attempts, as well as having Dorian save his life once, they've been spending a lot of time together. Though they've slept together only once (because Dorian is married already and he made a promise to his wife), Aqua keeps returning to Dorian, having adventures and drinking. Although Dorian's wife Alutia hates Aqua, he never meant any harm.

He does adore that dragonite. But he doesn't want Dorian to get in trouble and tries to keep everything on a friendly basis... (although, they can still cuddle...:iconpervylenplz: ).

Also, I notice Aqua is always almost nude in many pictures...

Name: Aqua Regia (Forged Noble Alias: Azzurro (Azure) da Cotone)

Pokemon: Vaporeon
Gender: Male
Age: 22

Job: Thief

Kingdom: He was born in a land destroyed by battle and time, dissolved into the earth and from recollection. He travels from kingdom to kingdom, though his main headquarters would be in Cydonia.

Ability: Water Absorb- When in contact with water, especially when raining, he feels refreshed and rejuvenated. It liberates him to be in the rain as well as swim in a body of water.

Likes: Water, money, common people, men, that feeling you get when you did something right, even when the law says otherwise, various alcohols (not a heavy drinker though), running on rooftops, swimming, being sly.

Dislikes: Thunder (deathly afraid of it, unfortunately), arostocracy and nobility, abuse of personal talents and power against the people.

Personality: He is very charming and charismatic. Though this counteracts with his job of stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, he is able to use the same charisma and charm to "persuade" what he does is otherwise innocuous. Money stolen across towns and no one to say that there was money taken. He is cheerful and overall optimistic, sometimes too deluded in his visions of grandeur to see the reality of his plans. He doesn't like to cause mischief, unless it is making a few guards and nobles buffeted with their own sense of importance, causing confusion and further his ability to become discreet. He is outgoing, but always keeps a hidden agenda. On the contrary to his demeanor, he is very defensive and analytical. He broods, thinking of complex plans and their consequences. Sometimes, he switches between the two personas, when the situation needs it. Very adaptive and form-fitting, to put in the least. Though, he can be an enigma, even to himself. After all of the thievery, death, commotion, and battles, he always remembers why he does this, and wonders if it is worth it all.

History: Aqua Regia was born into an upper class society, where his parents were wealthy nobles. He was always taught in the ways of aristocracy, the politics of money and reputation. Formality and Function was introduced to him at a young age, where he grew to detest it. He was always the rebel, the one to run away when he needed to study, hide when he needed to practice his scriptures. The only two aspects in his life that made the life of a nobleman's son even bearable to live with are how he had his Vaporeon (Deluge) and a friend to accompany him. Though he was merely adopted as a servant, Jean Cyril served as a companion as well as a protector towards Aqua. Jean was like an older brother to Aqua, where they trained fencing and fighting in study and then fought and played outside of study. Deluge was found on a beach coast by the two boys, where it was ill and dying. Upon the boy's efforts, they were able to revive and befriend the Vaporeon.

On his tenth birthday, a group of bandits raided the town, who was almost defenceless to the attack. Flames and horse hooves tore through the air, like thundering bellows from the sky. In five quick minutes, his home was ransacked and his parents killed off. Jean told him to take Deluge and run away and hide within the farm road brush, staying within the shadows and blended in the night. He would meet up with him after he is finished.

However, the young boy cannot be as deft as he wished. Lacking fluidity and dexterity, he was caught by a pair of bandits, who saw him for his noble clothing. Deluge tried to defend Aqua, but was unable to do so. They raided him of his jewel-embroidered clothing and slashed his throat, leaving him on the roadside to die. With last thoughts, he regretted being weak, unable to protect anyone, let alone himself. Upon a dying master, Deluge then wished for life within the body, almost a corpse. Before his life slipped away, he felt himself being absolved of the foulness. Pain and chilling sensations dissolved with the rain that he felt as he woke up.

He found himself within the arms of an elderly woman and her husband, placed into a cart of hay, wrapped in a blanket. The couple were to travel to the town to trade, but found the town barren and destroyed, where ashes became subsided by the rain that followed that morning. The two were mere farmers, transporting produce and livestock to the town square. They found him on the way back from the carnage, lying beneath the bushes. When he asked if there were anyone alive, or any Pokémon that lingered, they said there were none. They agreed to take him in. For the next five years, he worked the life of a farm boy, seeing the pains of poverty and the deaths of his foster parents after a plague had struck the village. Two parents, two homes, and two friends gone, Aqua had no other reason to live.

He ventured to the barren wasteland of the town he used to live in as a child, walking among the ashes and dust. In front of his home, he was in despair, not knowing what to do. Then he saw a leather satchel among the dirt, well hidden but was what used to be a place Aqua and Jean used to secretly hide things from the others. Within the satchel was a silver bracelet that Aqua persuaded his father to buy twice over. Once for him, and the second for Jean (without his father knowing). They considered this as a link of friendship, something physical for them to acknowledge. Then there was a note that said: "Not...gone...please...taken...where...th-". It didn't make much sense, nor was it legible beyond that, where the time of seven years took its toll. But with this, he knew that Jean was still alive. With newfound meaning, he decided to venture to find his friend, to at least take back the little reality and family he had in his life.

Upon packing his own food and fixtures, he wasn't able to survive long, which he realised. So in the first town he arrived, he had to learn the skill of the thief, being able to make a living out of stealing and thriving off the skills of dexterity and stealth. Upon his first stealing, he was apprehended and jailed. However, he released by a thief's attempt. The thief himself was one of the leaders of a band of thieves within Cydonia. He saw the skill Aqua had and wanted to recruit him. Aqua then learned how extensive their thievery network went, where strings where tied loosely between towns and even cities. He learned skills and abilities that would otherwise be impossible. Within four years, he rose up the ranks within the band and became the right hand man of the leader. When the leader passed, he left the band of thieves to Aqua, who took it with honour. He saw this as an opportunity to amend what he has experienced: the overtly flourished life of nobles and the depressing squalors of the peasant. He would then make plans to equalize the financial gap between the rich and poor, stealing and donating. With small strides, he was able to make the poor of smaller towns flourish a bit more, thanks to his knowledge of aristocratic politics taught to him early on.

Though quartered in Cydonia, he insists on seeing and managing the system himself, going from kingdom to kingdom and town to town. The thief network spanned to all corners of the continent, but only did small jobs in order to keep the nobles in the dark of their procedures. This however would change as Aqua entered Matahari, where he discovered that nobles there had a good amount of wealth untouched by thieves (due to the desert geography and thieves unwilling to be stationed to such an environment).

But to pull a plan that involves the stealing, shipment, AND distribution of vast amounts of wealth, Aqua would need to convince the nobles and aristocrats to actually give him the money, since stealing it blatantly would cause an uproar. With this, he composed an operation to disguise himself and forge a tie of nobility to gain the trust and attain diplomatic power to the arisocrats of Matahari. He forged a name of "Azzurro de Cotone", where he is able to convince the nobles that Cotone (completely made-up) resided in that empty barren that was once his home. Knowing that his town was erased from outside knowledge, he used the enigma of the area and uncertainty of his legitimacy to persuade the aristocrats that he has "ties" to Matahari via the trade of fabrics, namely cotton.

However, he is unable to do this operation alone and need someone from the inside, so he requested the assistance of a Paladin, stating that he "needed" protection from the bandits that were after him, for he was tied to the cotton trade. Saul Freed (permission granted by his owner) was assigned to Azzurro.

Random Info:
- Azzurro de Cotone is roughly Italian for "Blue of Cotton". (talk about thinking of a name off the top of your head)

- Aqua actually attains stealthiness and dexterity through the gijinka process, which can explain his headstrong resove and bravery. Although, Deluge himself does not say much, being that Aqua is always thinking and calculating.

-He likes men, but is very noble with his intentions. He still holds the chivalrous ways of the Middle Ages. But he does like to talk to the ladies. (Men aren't that interesting when talking, he noticed)

- He used to be darker skinned, had brown hair, and green eyes. But after the gijinka, Deluge cause his hair to bleach to a blonde colour. And since vaporeon never tans (I would assume, being all fishy), his skin became whitened and a bit pale.

- Also, it seemed he became more elegant in his ways due to the Vaporeon's elegant nature. This, ironically, made him more of a noble than before he combined.

-He loves exciting, thrilling things. Fighting is thrilling (but brutish). Stealing, being covert, incapacitating enemies (he doesn't like killing so much), and helping out at the local soup kitchen. (poor people are exhilarating!)

-To help create the illusion that he is from "Cotone", he ordered his men to specifically steal and transport cotton from various sources to Matahari. (All for his friend? wow, dedication, huh?)

-Being a thief, disguise is always key. Including being asked to dance at the ball because you are a striking beauty. (Being "Azzurro de Cotone" means you have a lot of resources for a dress and petticoat, right?)

-He likes wine with some pasta and getting caught in the rain.
